The Hanseatic towns comprise of seven cities which were once important centres of commerce and culture. Today they are pleasant and romantic towns that attract many tourists who want to enjoy the historic character and the local cuisine, shopping possibilities and flora and fauna.

A visit to Kampen is seen as a Maritime highlight. Admire the famous ‚Kogge‘ in the town of Kampen, a replica of the merchant ship dating from 1340.

Explore the charming centre of the pilgrimage town of Hasselt which looks like a scenic miniature of Amsterdam, and enjoy amazing views from the Vischpoort tower across the pretty fishing village of Elburg.

During your travels, you must plan a visit to Harderwijk. A location for culinary gourmets, which boasts 2 Michelin-starred restaurants. 

Then in Zwolle, there are many a novel and quirky things to discover – from craft markets to pop-up restaurants, so make sure you allow enough time to venture through the area and explore every corner.

The stunning location of the small town of Hattem in the National Park De Hoge Veluwe inspired many artists. Their artworks can be admired in the three museums that are located in the park. 

Lastly, but certainly not least, the town of Doesburg boasts numerous art galleries and no less than six museums that invite visitors once a month to participate in the “cultural Sunday.”
